Jewellers insurance news - Traders robbed in car park likely to make claim
Two jewellery dealers from Hong Kong are expected to make a jeweller's insurance claim after they were robbed by two masked men of more than £400,000-worth of gold and diamond items in a hotel car park.
The dealers from Hong Kong were about to get in their car at the Hounslow Hotel when four robbers demanded their backpacks, seized the car keys and punched one of the dealers in the head.
The backpacks contained rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets made from gold and diamonds.
Passports and credit cards were also in the bags and a watch was stolen from one of the victims. The robbers made off in the dealers' car.
Hounslow CID is anxious for members of the public to contact them or Crimestoppers with any information about the robbery. It is expected the dealers will be making a jewellery insurance claim which hopefully includes jewellery in transit insurance.
